Ladd Smith and special guests will be performing at The Muse on Valentine’s Day (February 14th) from 6:30 to 10:30. Bring a date and enjoy a night of entertainment. Afton Shows presents Ladd Smith featuring Carl Miner, Aki Thompson, December Dies and special guests.
Smith has written such songs as ‘Just Another Alice,’ ‘Beautiful Thing’ among others. ‘Outrun the Train was the song he performed to win Guitar Player Magazine’s 2007 Guitar Hero competition and was written ten years earlier at age fifteen. Smith was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma but grew up around his parent’s store, Argill’s Music Store in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He has been playing guitar since age 4 and wrote his first song at age 9. Signed to ASCAP at only fifteen-years-old, it is no surprise that Smith sounds and writes like a veteran performer.
Smith has a unique approach to his music. “I like trying to marry rural nostalgia and Swedish Japanese design with sound.” He also says that he likes music that sounds like black and white photography. That type of classic and timeless music that was the foundation for anything on the radio today. “Our time is short, our art is forever,” Ladd Smith.
